I feel like if you get banned and have spent a lot of money on your account, you should receive a refund of at least 50 to 75% back.

If i got banned and lost all 500+ bucks I spent on this game I would not mind, because if i got banned I Deserved it. when you agreed to riots Policy then you agreed that if you got terminated you will not get any money back you spent.

The moment you buy something online, in most cases, you're not only buying an item, but consenting to their contract for said online purchases. Unlike physical property, you know what you're getting, and can experience said something to its fullest for however long it keeps your interest. Riot is by no means legally obligated to cater to people that want to revoke a legally binding contract. It's literally in print for you. The moment you give them money, it becomes theirs.

Sony's another big stickler for sticking to said binding contract as well, with the minor exception of special and rare cases.

The only difference here is I'd argue it's the same as physical property - both are like a work of art. You can hang it on the wall, you can carry it around town, but the second you start throwing it around and smashing it as if you couldn't lose it, you do lose it.

You might want it back, sure. But companies aren't required (or obligated at all) to give you refunds for things you purchased under a set of requirements and then ignored the requirements of.

If you go to a movie theater, buy a ticket, and punch another patron, you're getting kicked out and not refunded. If you go see a Broadway show and shout at the actors, you'll get kicked out, and you won't be refunded.

When you buy a virtual good, you agree (in almost all cases -- Riot is no exception) that what you're purchasing is the right to use that content while your access to the service exists. When your access is revoked -- especially when that loss is due to your own violation of the rules -- the company doesn't owe you anything in return.
