something worrying for all the wrong reasons

been learking around for the past month since my keyboard has a couple keys broken, and just had stumbled across something concerning. found a new post about someone giving up on life, yet within minutes was locked, denying any comments from being posted; hey moderators, do you want us to ignore someone that may be genuinely crying out for help/ if so then you should have your powers revoked for thinking so little of another person's life. things like these are what add to the hostility of these boards . . . and i've seen it carry over into the games, and vice a versa.

anyway . . . to anyone who needs some encouragement regardless of the reason, i'll paraphrase a few lines i've heard over the years. don't give up man, dying just prevents things from getting better; just because you lost what you had today, doesn't mean you can't get more tomorrow. you may only be one person to the world, but you may be the world to one person, even someone you never considered. hope, no matter how small, is worth hanging onto.

I agree with you but I also understand why they did it. I actually just posted something myself here about this topic on the same post.

In short it is a very touchy subject. We do have trolls, who may encourage it; but we also have people who would try to dissuade.

I think the course of actions is lock and send an alert/notification with a number to call. So they do care, but they also have been "trained" to handle that sort of situation.
