Victorious Skins

Don't mind the copy and paste, I originally sent this to someone that works for Riot. They liked the idea (as well as agree to it) and asked to forward it to the board so that the development team could see it as well.

To be honest it's more of an idea some players and friends have asked me to tell y'all due to them wanting to see it happen. I'm sorry if I am wasting time but as players we feel the need to let the developers know how we feel towards a certain part of the game. We understand how Victorious skins are to represent that year but to put it simple, we hate it. To climb gold or pass to get a skin that we don't desire versus a skin we do wish to earn from past seasons. None of us have seen anyone play with a Victorious skin since most people that got it don't care for the skin since it is a champion they do not care for or want. For example I love playing Morgana, she is my highest ranking champion and I have all her skins but the Victorious skin. Several times I have been invited to play rank but it is a buzzkill due to the fact I have in my head that I will never be able to EARN my favorite champion last skin. Instead I would get a skin I could care less for. Now if I heard there was an ability to pick one of the old Victorious skins or the new one for that year I would climb up as fast as I could due to having that drive of something I wish to earn. Yes it may upset some players, but it would make more players happy to be able to pick which of the skins. That way they can use the skin that they WANT to play with. Lets step away from that for a second and look at Championship skins. Some people thought they were going to be a skin that you can only buy the year it was released due to them being a limited time like Victorious skins but in a purchase version. Yeah some may have gotten a little annoyed but so many more were happy because they missed out on it due to life, no money, or joined the game too late. I have seen enough Championship skins being played that I would say it was the right move to allow to pick of the bunch. Now I'm not saying give us the ability to buy it; I'm saying allow us to earn whichever past or new Victorious skin there is so we can feel more proud of what we accomplished and earned. Not to mention due to the restriction of we can only earn whatever skin y'all throw at us it has caused third party sites to start selling those skins by making accounts knowing people will miss out on the skins. I hate that so much and they are making a lot of money due to the fact that it can only be gained that one year. So people are willing to drop their old accounts to have a newer account that have the skin that the game did not allow them to earn on their own. It burns us up because that restriction encouraged that behavior. If there wasn't a restriction people would be more willing just to play and earn the champion skin for free with sweat and thinking rather than hundreds of dollars that someone took advantage on. As I was discussing this someone said a good idea that I didn't think of and wish to add to this. So now we bring ourselves to the Hextech skins. They were saying what if instead of giving us a skin not by our choice, to give a type of token that can be turned in like the Hextech(or any other mini event tokens y'all have done) that allows us to click the ones we wished to earn. That way it is a similar system to what y'all are already doing. It all have the one thing that matters, earning your own skin and being proud to get gold or above. Time changes and in order to catch up the things around it changes as well. We desperately hope that y'all will consider this idea for which we know it is not the first plead to change this.
