why arent you punishing players that are wishing death on other players and their families

in the last month i started playing again, and the community is more toxic than ever. i constantly see players saying they hope your family dies in a car wreck or from cancer. i have recorded several of these and sent them to the police. if riot wont ban these toxic players they will, its rather stupid to let them to continue to play but you are banning players for saying shut up or youre bad... this makes absolutely no sense

Reposting my responses from your original thread that you deleted.

People who tell others to kill themselves are definitely banned and in fact it's one of the ZTP things that can escalate straight to a 14-day ban first offense. There are countless threads in PB alone that prove as such. That said I personally have never encountered people telling others to kill themselves in any of my games since I started playing in S2 (doesn't mean they aren't out there), so perhaps you're just unlucky in that regard. Also, other people behaving poorly does not give you a free pass to do the same.

First of all relying on getting that popup notice is foolish as not only is it notoriously unreliable but it also doesn't prove whether someone got punished or not. Second of all you shouldn't go stalking the profiles of those you reported as not only is it a waste of time and petty but if the person you're stalking got a chat restriction then you stalking their profile would prove nothing anyways since CRs don't stop someone from playing the game. Third of all, my comment related to retaliation was more of a general purpose reminder here more than anything else. Apologies if I didn't make that clear before.

Police is a bit of an over kill for a few reasons.

  1. The police wont do anything
  2. They dont have the players IP, and Riot wont give it out without a warrant forcing it, for getting the warrant refer to 1)

You do know that wishing someone gets cancer isn't actually a crime, right?

We do. I personally find that threats and death wishes to other players/mods/anyone in general are some of the worst things someone can do. That and nudity/vulgar language. I will come down upon threats more heavily than other offenses (unless those others are repeated). Its awful and I will stop it at every turn.
