Removing the Upvote?
What's the point of removing upvoting? It'll just keep trash posts on the front page longer no?

Pretty much, but honestly I'm betting Riot is going to either be reworking the boards this year or if this article I read is right, they'll be starting a social media deal and tossing out the boards. Either way I'm assuming it was just a cheap fix till Riot is ready to unveil their plans for the community stuff.
