Proposed Lucian Changes.
With all this talk about Lucian needing to be nerfed/changed I got to thinking at work today about ways to incorporate ideals the devs have about him into his kit. From what the devs have shown, when they originally went to release Lucian they wanted him to be a High mobility ADC with range being his weakness. They also stated that his main sources of damage would be his Q and his Passive. I took these ideas to heart and created a list of changes that I think would work well with him and this vision. Giving him a distinct weakness of range and a strength of mobility.
These are what I came up with:
Range - 550 -> 525
Q - Higher early game scaling helping him with lane considering a lower attack range.
Example: Scaling changed from 60/75/90/105/120% -> 80/90/100/110/120%
W - Notes and recent nerfs from the devs have shown that this was made to be a utility spell and wasn't meant to be a damage dealing spell. Proposed changes of mine would be to remove damage on it all together or give it no scaling of any kind with AD or AP and just give it a flat minuscule amount of damage. I also took this skill to improve upon his mobility and apply and bit more utility to his kit in trade for the damage lost.
Example: NEW Passive : Upon damaging enemy targets with his basic attacks or abilities, Lucian gains 10/15/20/25/30 movement speed for 2 seconds.
NEW Active : Lucian fires a shot that explodes in a cross pattern upon hitting an enemy or reaching the end of its path, illuminating the area and marking enemies for 6 seconds. If Lucian damages a marked target with his basic attacks or abilities the cooldown of his Relentless Pursuit is reduced by .5 seconds. Cooldown is only reduced on the the charge nearest to finishing.
E: This is another place I took liberty increasing and solidifying Lucian's primary strength, Mobility. I decided to try giving his dash 2 charges. Of course having a greatly increased CD and a shorter attack range, it will allow this to be the deciding factor of a good Lucian and a great Lucian. Also, considering the spell is named Relentless Pursuit I thought it silly that it's primary use with only having one charge was a get away. With 2 charges it can actually be used to Relentlessly pursue your target should you find yourself inclined to.
Example: Mana Cost: 40/30/20/10/0
Cooldown: Changed from 18/16/14/12/10 -> 23/21/19/17/15
NEW : This skill now has 2 charges. Each charge recovering independently of one another.
I am not suggesting all these changes be made at once or even that they are all implemented at all or with the numbers I've produced. These are just ideas that were swimming in my head about ways to change Lucian and steer him to a goal where his Range puts him in danger but if played right his Mobility can put him on top. Giving him defined weaknesses and strengths. Critiques welcomed and happy to hear other ideas. I would just rather Lucian be changed in this kind of way rather than just nerfed relentlessly until I get laughed at for playing my favorite champion.
