Can we discuss Soraka?

Okay so as someone who has played Soraka over the years, I would like to discuss the upcoming change to her Q. In Patch 3.14 the following changes were made to the damage/MR Shred of Starcall:

  • Magic resistance reduction change to 6 (+1% AP) from 8 / 9 / 10 / 11 / 12.
  • Mana cost changed 30 / 40 / 50 / 60 / 70 from 20 / 35 / 50 / 65 / 80.
  • Base damage increased to 60 / 95 / 130 / 160 / 200 from 60 / 85 / 110 / 135 / 160.

While I feel the mana cost change was fairly justified as it toned down her early game, but helped her mid-late game, I remember that Riot said the damage/MR shred was adjusted since obviously if the MR shred is lower, the damage would be lower. Wouldnt it be more beneficial to support Soraka if the MR Shred nerf was reverted along with the damage change so that she still would offer good utilty with her Q? Or would this make it too strong since the passive on her Q is getting a buff?

I just want Soraka to feel more impactful during a teamfight instead of her just being a heal/mana bot.

I've tried asking about this but riot doesn't seem to give a crap right now.

They want her to be a heal bot until the next "rework" she gets which will destroy that and everything else about her.

Why? Since they aren't talking directly about the changes I can only make a guess. Healbots aren't viable in mid or top (where it is more fun to play her). Healbots don't beat renekton. Healbots don't work in the higher levels or in the LCS. Healbots can be reworked more easily because riot hates healing.

Step 1: nerf a champ you hate

Step 2: wait until non-fans stop playing that champ

Step 3: destroy said champ while most people aren't looking

BAAAAD idea.

Soraka ATM is incredibly frustrating to play against as anyone except maybe on hit champions like Teemo .

The current Soraka I go against go TANK and still hurt like hell. And never die, due to spamming heals.

Try asking a friend to play soraka against you in a 1v1; and tell me if you win or not.
