Strange Symbolism in Game, IMPORTANT question for Riot Designers

Hi Dev's and Rioters,

I had a question about some of the symbolism in game - particularly the use of upside down pentagrams featured in many of this game's icons. I am a Christian myself, and I find having to look at very obviously satanic symbols honestly pretty offensive. But before you disregard my post, please look at the following attached. My request is merely that we refrain from what I believe to be real spiritual darkness - in the interest of keeping this game just a game, and not some satanic mind-trap for kids. That would, to me, be best. Regardless of whether or not you're a Christian, this game is a GAME, and not something that should be ridden with satanic symbols. Keep it 'good', Riot, or lose my business personally.

Thanks a million ~Crazychinchilla

a few points.

  1. those looks 100% coincidental

  2. you might be trying too hard....

  3. if symbols offend you... i've got bad news for you.... they're everywhere and can be used for good or evil.

  4. just because you don't like something doesn't mean oppressing it is the right thing to do.

Remember when troll posts were well-thought out, and were all the more enjoyable?

Omg...a pentagram.... In a game with mutilated robo-zombie-crabs, (un)death celebrating priests, adorable twintail terrorists and other stuff... Adorable Twintail Terrorists... Twintail....Twin Towers.... Twin Tower Terrorists.... Omg with Jinx Riot celebrates the 11th Sptember...

See what happens, when you start to interprete too much into something?

And the Doom Bots Icon...only 1 of 5 points actually hits something on Ziggs' face...

Honestly, all I had to do was look at them just once, Jace77. It was very clear to me that these pieces of artwork are modeled after upside down pentagrams, - a symbol that in many cultures is regarded as not necessarily being the most 'full of light' 'full of love' - or certainly, on the part of these designers, the best intended. Lets keep this game a game, okay? Let's not pack it full of satanic symbolism, - as Wind Riven shows in the map of Washington, DC. I'd much rather occupy my time with something that isn't full of the wrong message. Riot, I'd like this addressed. Thanks!

Well, you can believe what you like, - but as someone who has watched many lectures on the use of symbolism in different forms of media in order to illicit a particular response, I'd like to say that the chances of those things occurring purely coincidentally are rather slim. You're telling me that in the first image where a perfect pentagram is formed using the points where ziggs' hair terminates is purely coincidental. If that is the kind of coincidence you're used to, I suggest you play the lottery. I'm certain that the chances of this occurring even once are pretty slim. Let alone twice. In the second figure we see another upside-down pentagram, - and in terms of symbolism (as far as I understand it) - twisting an upside-down pentagram is often done intentionally to 'warp' the effect of the pentagram. Its very clear that the second icon has angles that are modeled after a pentagram. If you're okay with that, then okay. I'm not. I think this is a game, and it should stay a game - and not something that I log into only to be bombarded with symbols I find offensive. Those are my feelings - and I've studied theology pretty extensively, and I feel safe making these assertions about these two icons.
