Taric and Braum identity overlap?
While I'm ecstatic that there will be a new male support, as it bother me how a champion's gender seems to heavily influence their role, I'm a little worried about Braum and Taric overlapping in both lore and function. Braum seems a lot more defined in personality and look, that seems mostly attributed to when he was conceived and shipped out and not due to who he is.
They are both men who became protectors of those who could not protect themselves. They both wield giant shields. They were both meant to focus on protecting their allies. Braum seems like he's much better tuned for that because there's a lot more depth in his kit where Taric's old mechanics and effects fall flat.
Taric was the first champion I ever played, and as champions like Leona and Thresh have come out it's impeded on his viability as his single, lone stun becomes more and more outclassed in what used to be his "job". Braum isn't the first champion to encroach on his play-style in that regard, but he's the first to do it in a way that overshadows him as a character, and not just as an in-game champion.
Is there any word or decision on how Taric is going to be handled in a post-Braum world? I believe I've read he's up for a VU but what about a kit rework? I know there can't be any set dates, but is there at least hope that Taric will be able to stand out of Braum's shadow some time in the future?
