ARAM champ select goes completely black if someone instantly requests a trade

This has happened to me 3 times now and I'm really getting sick of having to wait 15 minutes for something that I have no control over. I guess I'm entering the queue a second later than everyone else or something, but I hear the trade request noise and the screen just doesn't change, leaving me with no choice but to quit out and receive a penalty.
