Riot your proposed fix doesn't work

In fact, with the patcher bugging out, restarting the damn thing only causes a rescan of thousands upon thousands of files.

And there's no end to the scanning in sight.

Any update to the method? Should we all just stop playing for the day?

Yup i have the same issue. try restarting it once it got to 99% and show me that update error. i even try to repair, i rebooted my pc. try run it as admin. nothing works. Starts at 33% scanning files once it starts to patch it gets to 99% and error message. Im about to just uninstall it and reinstall it soon lol. Tried about 6 times now.

I had this issue on one of my machines. I don't think it will ever stop scanning (mine was at 32k files scanned even though there are only ~9k files in the Riot Games folder). I tried the whole disable firewall and AV and peers and swapping to other servers ect. The only thing that worked was here:

It basically copies the S_Ok file from one of the folders where the useless scan is already done and places it into all the folders where the scan will infinitely repeat. If you actually are missing files or they are corrupted it will probably crash your game, but mine worked since there wasn't anything wrong with my install (except the Rito fail scan part).
