Home Menu Bug

I logged on to league not long ago and in the middle of the home menu there was just the loading symbol spinning around and around and nothing ended up happening, i could click on friends, chat rooms, notifications, settings, the home button and everything else except anything on the home screen just would not load, i restarted my league to fix the problem and it worked but i just don't know why or how the bug happened.
