is this a bug? or is ranked ALOT stricter

i just finished my placement games and did fairly well in all of them (except one). ended up winning 8 out of my 10. and i dont know if it's glitched, really strict or what because i somehow got bronze 4? is it now looking at player skill instead of if you win or lose? because if thats the case, i did well enough in all my games (except one again) to not be in bronze 4. its weird because my other friend won only 4 games and got bronze 2. plz tell me if this is a glitch/bug or just me being unlucky or what?

its because riot doesnt want to give free skins at the end of the season so theyre throwing everyone in bronze and the 200 rest are challengers

This is not a bug. Its pretty much impossible to advance any more than a couple divisions this year. It is very dependent on where you started. In past years you would probobly be in silver.

Were you ranked last season at like B5 -300 lp

nope i was silver 5 last season with 43 lp. but i still dont get how i went from that to bronze 5. my friend was in silver 3 now in bronze 2 after winning 4. still dont get it :/
