Fizz E can be completely canceled like a normal channeled ability or is this a bug?

Reksai can cancel Fizz from going invulnerable and from doing any damage from E with Reksai's knockup.

This isn't a one time thing either since this has happened 3 times throughout the game as he abused it as a counter to my lane.
