Duo ranked drops me from champion select and my friend stays in champion select

hi, unfortunately i didnt screenshot my problem and i hope it isn't necessary I started a game with my friend DJ Rizikko and when we accepted the game i got dropped out of champion select and lost my promotion game and he was still in champion select until it dropped him out too.. it happened to me this once and now i dont know if i should try it again because it will cost me another promotion if it drops me again
