Hiya PowerPIayer,

This is working as intended. There's a similar situation when Trist jumps at the same time Blitz pulls.

It feels so wrong though, they should either react fast enough and dodge the hook with their blink, or get hooked and interrupt their channel putting the skill on a short cool-down and get grabbed, allowing them to cast it again once the grab is over.

Not this "I got grabbed but I am just going to blink away anyway."

Remove the delay on their dashes and the same players that get away now with it will get away then. The player is reacting fast enough.

I am not saying to remove the delay, i am saying if your cced during the delay cancel the skill and refund the cooldown.

It shouldn't be though. They got hooked plain and simple. It looks and feels like an unfair glitch that they get to get away regardless of the Blitz's good play.

A "Good play" from Blitz would involve predicting their landing point and not using his hook when he knows their blink is off cooldown.

That would also often involve the hook going further than it should most of the time as the enemy would be jumping away. Simply put they got hit, they shouldn't then be allowed to get away. If it's that much of a problem then maybe those spells shouldn't have a cast animation. If you can't CC them while the cast is happening then why have the cast at all?

intended. E is a blink, not a dash. you are immune during blinks for a millisecond or so. its the equivalent of flash

You see the blitz arms go all the way towards ez new position and never return with him lol.

Anyway, although I agree with you the window is actually quite long considering Exz animation on his E is quite long

It has nothing to do with blinking. Tristana can do it too. The thing is that the last movement takes precedense and since ezreal and tristana movement is delayed they can easily be set up to happen after you have begun being pulled by blitzcrank.

You can also use alistar headbutting an enemy away after it has been hooked by blitzcrank to replicate it.

There are a lot of hard cases to since most dashses and blinks have a 0.25 cast time but these are hard since they have to be cast before you get stunned by the hook and go off after you start being pulled

wow. thank you. i do a ton of research on mechanics and i have never seen anything about this. uber grateful to have learned this.

There are some funny cases such as thresh hook counting as three seperate pulls so reply to me here if you want to know about any ambiguous cases.

Not even close.

Ezreal's E doesn't have a cast time, but a lengthy animation (same with his R). Nothing you can do will stop Ezreal from blinking, except death, because animations aren't cancelable.

On the other hand Flash is instant. It has no cast time, no animation. When Blitz grabs you, you either already Flashed the grab or he pulls you.

Zed's Shadow is also a Blink, but it lacks any kind of cast time or animation frame and Blitzcrank will always pull him if landed a grab.

So how does Ez's E work with Darius E then since you know, pressing E on Darius as someone flashes or "Ez E's" away pulls them from across the map anyway.

LongHair Fox1 votes

This has to do with how Darius E is coded. The skill most likely sets up flags for if it has hit a target and after a short delay pulls them. If ez E blinks him after the pull has started then ez gets out but if he blinks before then he gets pulled in.

Another "intended mechanic" of Riots then I guess.

Darius goes into the category of older champions coding wise. A lot of the newer champions have been coded a lot better and if you take a few moments you will realize that a lot of old champions have these wierd interactions.

Honestly I think riot is pretty logical and honest in what they do. Unfortunately the way they structured their code in the early stages of the game seems to be pretty bad resulting in these wierd interactions and things like the death recap and other bugs.

I dont think it was originaly intended They more of accepted it

Yeah that's why its in quotes ;)
