Gaining Mastery 5 Awards Mastery 6 Token (Bug?)

SO i didn't see any threads about this and its been bugging me for a while now. I thought it would have been a one time thing and then the client got and update. However over that last few days I've been playing champs i haven't touched in a while like Vi and Teemo and when i acquired Mastery 5 the notice comes up and its all cool. When i hit continue a second notice comes up saying I've received a Mastery 6 token.

I know this is not intentional but has anyone else seen this? I find it weird that it comes up with the text box saying you've got one when you don't. Even if you have scored an S-/S/S+ in the game you attained M5. Again I'm sure this is a bug and i would like to know if a Rioter knows this and if there is a fix for this. It seems very minimal but can throw off a lot of people. Just saying.

i got it as well twice, on Riven and Akali, had an S/S- on the game i got M5 on them and a popup said i had gotten a mastery token. Now, i don't know where the bug lies:

 - Are we supposd to get a token but since we were M4 before the game it isn't counted and we don't get it, so the bug is not getting a token we're supposed to get
 - Or are we NOT supposed to get it and then the problem lies in a popup appearing by mistake stating we won a M6 token

Has anybody encountered this as well ? because it's pissing me off when i get the pleasure of seeing that i get M5 AND a token, but then rip token.

You are not intended to receive a mastery 6 token if you get an S- or better the same game you reach mastery level 5. Tokens are only awarded for games after you reach level 5. The notification that popped up was saying that you are now able to earn tokens, not that you have actually earned one.
