Spectate Bug?

For some weird reason (I'm not sure if its my client or something else) whenever i right click on one of my friends profile while they're in game, the spectate option does not function correctly. Instead, it acts like my friend is not in game, because it gives me the option to invite them to a game (obviously nothing will happen because they're in game already). I want to be able to spectate my friends and see how they are playing while I wait for them to finish, but i don't know how to fix this "bug" or whatever it may be. Please someone help!
