Can't Equip Default Ward

Please acknowledge this bug Riot, it's been in the game for almost 2 years. In champ select it will say you have the default ward selected but I will not be in-game. Everyone's just ignoring this bug like it's not that big of a deal. The only way to use the default ward is if you've never changed ward skins from the beginning.
