Mouse cursor wont stay on screen (fullscreen mode)

Çêrbêrûs··1 votes·11,414 views

Went to play a game this morning and my cursor wouldnt lock to my screen. Ive had this problem in the past where alt tabbing out or changing window modes fixes it but this time i did not. even after a full client restart it still wont lock to the screen. It just cost me an important ranked game, How can i fix this?

Hi Cerberus (Insert your numerous symbols),

This issue can happen if you have another fullscreen game running, even minimised. I've had this issue happen with the likes of SW:TOR and WoW running in the background - it seems to confuse DirectX as to which screen it wants to hook into.

This may have been it. I believe I had World of Tanks minimized behind it.

Yeah that would probably cause it - happened to me a few times. This is more an issue with how DirectX handles initialisation and exclusivity more than a LoL issue - DX was never really intended for multiple fullscreen, exclusive products to be open at once (And really why would it, you shouldn't be able to play more than one fullscreen game at a time).

Not something LoL can fix unfortunately, but at least you know of a workaround if it happens again! :-)

I like having other games open when I'm playing. Despite the other games being in Windowed mode, LoL (also in Windowed Maximised+Borderless mode) won't capture the mouse. Are you absolutely sure this isn't something odd about LoL handling the mouse? Other games I play in Windowed Fullscreen capture the mouse fine despite having multiple games running.

TLDR; It works in WoW to have a second game running (all windowed fullscreen), why not LoL?
