About not getting an assist (how vlad`s w works)

Since lolreplay broke my computer twice, i gave up recording my games so this was not recorded.

I was playing .

was fighting , I threw my q on vlad but he turned into pool when the dagger hit him. (and my q started cooling down)

And I didnt get an assist after vlad is killed (within 2 seconds, ww`s q killed vlad right after his pool gone).

I don`t get what had happened. The spell description says he is untargetable but not invulnerable or anything else.

Is this a bug?

It's a fair question, but I think it's not a bug and is working as intended. Check out Vlad's wiki page

Click "show details" for his pool ability.

You'll want to pay special close attention to the part where it says some abilities can affect him as he's entering the pool (e.g., Cho's feral scream, and Cass's petrifying gaze), and that DoTs that are already applied before he goes into the pool will still damage him (e.g., Swain's torment, Ignite), but that other abilities will not do damage to him as he's pooling. I'm assuming that abilities with travel time (non-instant), like Kat's daggers cannot target him as he's pooling.
