Consistent and easy to replicate Vi bug that prevents her from being able to cast Q

Very simply ... if Vi is in the process of casting her Q when she gets snared she will no longer be able to cast it. The only way to fix this is to restart the client.

It seems to happen about 50% of the time that a snare is cast on Vi during her Q. I think the problem has something to do with the Q not resetting properly when the second cast does not occur.

This bug has been reported multiple times before and should be easy to identify and fix.

Thanks for posting this and sorry it took me this long to respond. I'm pretty sure we are aware of this issue and is on our list of things to fix. When I get in tomorrow I'll poke around a bit more and see if I can either get some progress on the issue or at least provide an update with what is going on.

Thank you. I hadn't spotted a cause when it happened to me.

I've had this happen to me. The fix while in-game is to Alt-Q, essentially casting the Q on herself. But a bugfix would be real nice.

still they need to fix this shouldn't be happening in the first place

When you say "the only way to fix this is restarting the client", do you mean that this bug persists even after you've ended the game and started a new one with Vi?

This has been happening a lot more frequently to me and it doesn't just involve snares. However for me sometimes it seems random - I've had my Q interrupted many times before the second cast by a CC effect (stun, knockup, etc) but it will still work after - however when it does happen, it always seem to do so randomly (sometimes out of combat). However I have not been able to confirm/test it further. Most of the time when it happens it is during a teamfight, but there have been instances where it doesn't seem to be triggered by anything in particular.

To fix it in-game I put Q on smart cast, smart cast it, then take it off smart cast. It's worked every time the bug happened, but it's annoying to have to recall during a teamfight just to fix it.

Riot please look into this, I sent a support ticket to address the issue and saying there isn't a definite timeframe to fix it is kinda a cop-out. The same issue has been around for years, and it's one of the big known glitches (same with Varus and Warwick). It's pretty game-breaking, and I'm getting paranoid about playing her again. Vi's my main and I want to take her into ranked games, and I want to be sure I won't have to throw a match because of a glitch.
