Avast detects league of legends as a virus after the 6.6 patch update

Apparently this has been happening to many people where they can't even open their launcher. Some have found solutions like restoring the file from Avast but this doesn't work for me. Some mention repairing the launcher, but I don't know how to do that. I tried uninstalling Avast, but my launcher still wouldn't open. And yes, I also excluded the files on Avast from being scanned. I extracted the LolLauncher from the Avast virus chest to the desktop and then clicked on the LolLauncher and it says Riot Client Patcher has stopped working. Does anyone have any solutions that might help me? (I am on windows 7 currently). Please help.

It's an issue with avast. You have to actually restore 2 different files. The RADS file and the Update UI file. It's annoying, but restore+Add to exclusion list, and it should work fine. Make sure to attempt to run the game as an admin too. If none of that works, you'll have to uninstall league and re-install it.

I have avast also. Won't let me run lol at all. Even after I excluded it. But I excluded it, tried to run it. It paused my system. Then avast had five other files (that were part of Windows Defender) come up corrupted. Wth did you do to my PC riot.... The only time I am ever on the internet on this PC is to play league....

Thank you, I've had issues with avast and other games before, not sure why I didn't consider it sooner.

I'm having this issue right now and i normally thought it was the launcher that was bugged so i deleted the launcher file: C:\Riot Games\League of Legends\RADS\projects\lol_launcher and it seemed to work but half way through the download it stops because of Avast. I added it to the exclusion file and tried the same process again and it failed. What i tried is turning off Avast for 10 minutes then do the same process I said above about deleting the launcher file and open it. This worked for me. It opened and started to download the patch.

I tried a few fixes, but they didn't work. So I uninstalled Avast. Still didn't work. So now I have sat in my chair for 2 hours doing nothing, as I feel hollow inside. What am I supposed to do if I can't play LoL?

Same thing happened to me. Picture of ammumu popped up with PvP.net FATAL ERROR at the top right after I updated. Disabling avast and completely reinstalling league was the only fix that worked.
