Game not registering keys

So some games i cannot cast my summoner spells or use my keyboard at all, the games not registering it at all or something. I checked my hardware and its working fine outside of game (hence is why im able to type this.) not sure whats wrong. Its not an issue with my hotkeys or anything because i tried to reassign them and it wont register that i pressed the key at all.

I've had this issue before too, nothing seems to work aside from completely exiting and re-launching the client, and by the time you get back into game you're already 5-6 minutes behind. This is a real issue that I've found reports of happening as far back as 2010 with no riot response at all.
