Text Enlargement

Is anyone else having an issue after the patch notes 5.15 where all of the numbers on the HUD in-game are over sized?? I don't know how to change the size or if I even can, but it's unplayable for me.

Yeah, seems to be happening to a lot of people with high res displays. Wait for a fix.

It was first implemented earlier this season I believe, but the text was only too large for summoner names over champions and combat text. Now every single HUD text is too large. Here is a link to a screenshot from my last game:

I can't read my opponents stats, I can't read what items he has in the top right of the screen, I can barely read my own stats, I have no idea what the timer for my summoner spell on F is, it is hard to read my CS, I can't see the right digit of the game time.

Things that are not shown in this screenshot: Skill cooldowns are obscured, additional stats (pressing C) is unviewable, TAB is a mess, item cooldowns overlap each other.

For reference, I played this game with in game 1920 x 1080 (I believe, or something close to this) and my computer resolution was 3200 x 1800. These are the settings I have always used and only had issues with player names and combat text being too large, which was not a huge issue (but annoying nonetheless).

I tried changing the resolution of my screen as low as 1280x 720, and also changed the in game resolution to the same levels (and everything in between). No dice.

I also changed the item size in resolution to as small as possible. No luck.

I changed my intel graphics settings, as another user had suggested a few weeks ago. I switched from balanced to quality to performance with no change in text size. Note: I restarted my client between each change, but I did not restart my computer.

I ran custom graphics settings: from 2x to 16x anisotropic filtering. No change. I turned off anti-aliasing. No change.

I have no idea what to do, but the game is unplayable and I have no intention of playing again until a fix is proposed.

Does any of you guys have DPI scaling on your monitor? Because previously that is what made my client display huge names and huge gold displays on last hitting.... i disabled those and it was okay but now everything is so huuuuuuge :( I hope there will be a fix very soon.

Riot are you even working on fixing this? It seems to be a common bug. I've seen other threads with the same issue as well. Please get a fix for us so we can play the game again. item 3070

Mine aren't enlarged; I just can't read it worth crap. It's all blurred to heck and back. i tried to read my hp/mana and i couldn't discern a single number. reading the scoreboard was easier, but still not easy, simply because they were all single/double digits.

same exact problem on 3860 x 2160 monitor its unplayable. I was okay with the huge name and level before this patch, but now i can't play at all. The text is so large i cant see my stats or others, my hp or mana and i cant see my items without being in the shop because the screen is blurring together. I play this game all the time and now i can't play it at all. Please fix this!!!

I have a very easy and PERMANENT fix for this problem in all games/apps if you're running windows 10 (Not sure if it works on windows 8). This solution will scale all of your apps and text sizes to a standard 1080p display scale, without making your screen blurry or lower DPI, so I recommend this for all users with 2k to 4k displays until better support is given for us high resolution users! This will fix absolutely all scaling issues in League of Legends as well.

You right click on your desktop, and go to "display settings". Where it says “Change the size of text, apps, and other items”, on the right of it there will be a percentage. Note this percentage down for later, as this is what you will use to retain your high resolution with 1080p scaling.

Now, click on "advanced display settings". Then click on "Advanced sizing of text and other items". This will open a new window, and on this window click the "Set a custom scaling level" option. Change the scaling from whatever yours is to 100% (You will NOT need to change this back, as it is a permanent fix, but if you’d like, you can remember the percentage here in case something goes wrong. ).

You will then be asked to log out to make changes after clicking apply. Relog, and you should see that everything on your desktop looks extremely small, but DON’T WORRY! Go back to display settings, and from here where it says “Change the size of text, apps, and other items”, change the slider to the percentage you noted down in the beginning.

Relog once more, and there you have it! Your desktop and everything will look the same as before, but all of your scaling issues will be solved forever!

If this doesn't end up working permanently, change the “Change the size of text, apps, and other items” back to 100% and it should work, just everything on your desktop will be small!

In response to you method - Its a terrible way to fix, it works but your left having to swap over settings every single time you wish to play LOL. There this is hardly a fix.

The only way it works is if (using windows 10) you go into Display Settings - Do all of the above except leave the size of the text and apps section at 100% making your desktop and operating tabs etc very small and hard to read - would sooner give up LOL then repeating this over and over again. Sorry to say that this is no dice on a fix what so ever!
