ADC Attacks doing no damage on hit

I posted a question on twitter to Riot Games Support and they instructed me to make a bug post to be looked at/fixed

Currently from what I've been lead to believe if you cancel the attack animation before the missile fully leaves the champion nothing will happen damage wise and the missile will not travel any distance. However, I was lead to believe that if the animation continues far enough. that the missile will travel all the way to to target and hit, that it should do damage at that point. I have had quite a few games now especially on Vayne, that this is not the case. The animation will complete to the point of a missile leaving the champion and hitting the target (champion or minion) but do no damage. If the animation gets to that point shouldn't it do damage?

I believe most projectile champions you can cancel the aa animation before it is over, but the visual animation is not the exact moment when cancelling can occur. I know for QuinnQuinn (as my primary example) her cancelling location is when your bolt is around 1/3 of the distance between you and your target. I assume this is a similar case on VayneVayne as they both use crossbows which have the projectile fire instantly and have a long reload time instead of a windup time (animation wise). Where as I'm pretty sure jinx rocket has a long windup and you can move as soon as its fired and not cancel the auto

As i said the attack speed changes the entire animation of attack (before you can cancel) so if you were to smooth it out it would basically either make her have imaginary attack speed buffs or make not look like she's realistically firing a crossbow

Happens more often on meleee champs actually!

Especially project yi(his auto cancel is ~1/4 of the animation start before it does damage)

Also super noticeable on draven(the axes WILL still bounce)
