Please someone help me its been 2 weeks I have the same problem with DirectX. Everygame I join after champ slect and error appears: An unknown DirectX error has occured and League of Legends cannot start. Please make sure your vide cars is using the latest video drivers from the manufacturer. My video drive is using the latest version and I havve version DirectX 11 ( Ive heard windows 8.1 need 11.2 x for direct X) im on windows 8.1 please help me I cant find any solutions
I'm going to apologize in advance for this being blunt. "My video drive is using the latest version" is the kind of sentence a person says when they don't know what they're being asked to update or how, and they don't want to admit it.
Are you sure that you've updated the drivers for your video card?
First off, league uses DirectX 9, not 11. A lot of older games do.
Second, check with the manufacturer what the latest driver is for your card. Post your card and the driver number here so we can help you verify.

You need to download a driver at AMD.com.
I am also having this issue, I played league a lot before school started about 4 months ago, since than my computer crashed and I deleated everything and started from scratch again. Now I am on vacation and I downloaded league but I keep getting this error when ever I start up a game.
