[Crash] League froze 1 minute in, could not task manager. Game ran at 10 FPS after with no sound.

Basically, 1 minute into my game League crashed on me. I attempted to task manager out to reconnect, but to no avail. I had to go into sleep mode, log off my computer user profile and then go back to the game. The game ran again, but at 10-20 fps and sound was completely disabled. Every time someone got a kill, the kill description only lasted 0.2 seconds before disappearing, and the text was also missing with only icons showing up. Every kill dropped my frames to ~5. I even saw moments where my tower fired 2 shots at once.

It was very frustrating to deal with this. While it did happen in a normal, I want to ask what I can do to prevent something like this from happening ever again. Thank you.

The issue seems to resolve if I find a way to exit the game and reconnect from client, but nonetheless it was ridiculous, and such a thing is especially volatile when I'm laning. The biggest problem is that I could not task manager to deal with the problem the moment it appeared. Is there a way to task manager out of league easier when it freezes or crashes like this?

That sounds like something an automatic driver update could cause (since it causes things to unload/reload, things might have gotten messed up there). The short kill notifications and tower shot issue sounds like some significant packetloss issue, which does back up my thought of it being something downloading updates.

On another note, Control+Shift+Esc brings task manager up without having to attempt Ctrl+Alt+Del popup. Sometimes this can help better when things are severely lagged, as it skips a step.
