heimerdinger Q getting blocked by Jax E ?

Hi! before Heimerdinger's light rework in 2017, his turrets would always hit Jax through counterstrike with their regular attacks. But ever since, Jax's E no longer fails to block the turrets' attacks (except the beams) including the ultimate form, which I find is a bit of a let down since Heimerdinger used to be a huge counter to Jax for that reason. Is this the interaction that is meant to happen or is it a bug?

The turrets are little stationary minions who auto attack

I do believe it's intentional. The same happens with Shen's W and with Zyra's plants. The attacks aside from the beams are coded as auto attacks and can be blocked by Spirit's Refuge and Counterstrike.
