Yasuo got executed, because damage wasn't enough to break through his passive's shield

Yasuo was diving under a turret. Jayce used his melee form E to knock Yasuo away, activating Yasuo's passive shield. The shield wasn't broken from the damage and when Yasuo died, about 3 seconds after Jayce's E, he got executed.

Surely you should be given kill credit even if the damage got mitigated considering you cc'd your opponent?

It's probably not a bug, just a questionable design decision. If this is a bug, its been in the game for YEARS. The assist policy on shields is simple: if you damage a shield, and that shield is then BROKEN (by you or someone or something else) then you get assist/kill credit. If you damage a shield, and that shield EXPIRES by timing out, then you do not get assist credit; doing as much damage as you did when you did made no difference. In this case, I suspect the slow-mo would show the shield expiring immediately before the tower shot hit Yasuo. I would argue that you SHOULD get assist credit in this specific situation because you did CC him by knocking him farther under the tower, because its also the policy that applying non-damaging CC to someone will give you assist/kill credit. But idk.

Actually now that I think about it, this totally IS a valid bug and should be explored further. Upvote from me.

Small indie company /s Though seriously, I would think that you should have gotten kill credit. Shielding should not mean you did nothing to someone.

It's basically a free guardian.

Damage on shields doesn't count for an assist. It's always been like that, except on barrier. Barrier is the exception.

(Edit) wait yeah he displaced and slowed Yasuo. That 100% should've given kill credit and is a bug.

This one probably IS a bug, because CC should grant kill participation. Unless I'm mistaken and things like Elise cocoon don't grant assists.

"Working as intended" ~Riot, probably.

Or just delete Yasuo. He really has done a number on my ability to enjoy this game.

Not to mention that the turret...didn't..affect the shield at all when it...normally does.

Why...what?????

Sacred Math10/8/2018, 10:20:37 PM3 votes

Just delete Yasuo until the rest of the kits are as stacked as his.

I dont understand why a champ like yas who already has unlimited mobility, armor ignoring ult damage, CC ,Burst Damage, AOE damage , a counter to anything that isnt a melee attack, also gets a "Get out of jail free card" shield by walking. Wtf....

French Courtesan10/9/2018, 11:16:09 AM2 votes

Yasuo has safe nets like ult positioning him outside turrent range, shield that doesnt count low damage as damage dealt to him and many more to make him good in hands of even most unskilled and borderline retarded player so weaboos can play their fantasy without any trouble. Dont even dream if this being fixed because stuff like this has been reported years ago and nothing at all has been done about it.

The CC should have given you the kill considering it would give you an assist if a teammate killed him

3TWarrior10/8/2018, 11:50:02 PM2 votes

is it me or does that yasuo look like he's scripting? Flash, prepared Q, ult in the span of under half a second and then a maximum distance Q

but yeah, yasuo's shield is really high. it caps at 510 and has over 200 at level 6

This is a really old debate from way back when. Popping banshees didnt grant assist credit, even though it was necessary. Good times...

Mokiller510/9/2018, 11:01:26 PM1 votes

In all honesty I see an outplay. he landed the Beyblade and got out clean, sure you knocked him back but.....still.

On one hand, you can channel Recall with a shield on, be hit, and continue recalling as long as that damage doesn't exceed the shield amount.

On the other, getting executed after being spotted by enemy Kalista's sentinel grants her kill credit.

Stuff's whack lol

Shields have done this since games release, its not exclusive to Yasuo.

CC does give assists, for example Trundles Pillar of Ice, deals 1 true damage so he can get assists with it. However, Jayce does his moves base damage and the displacement. The base damage (the part of the move which would reward him with participation) was blocked by Yasuo's shield, and as such doesn't give him credit.

You always Q-E or W-E as Jayce exactly to avoid shanenigans like this.
