What DJ Sona? More like silent shifting-color Sona...

Soooo I get a DJ Sona as my support in teambuilder, get into game and I hit tab and... I mute Sona and unmute Sona and nothing happens (unsurprisingly). There's other clickable on her line. I think there's supposed to be another button next to the mute player button but there isn't.

I -do- normally play with music off, but even after turning music volume up to 70% all I got was generic rift music. Do I have to play with music on all the time just in case I get DJ Sona in my next game? 'cause that's not gonna happen. The default music gets old fast and I want to listen to my own music while playing. Unless I'm playing with DJ Sona, at least until the shine wears off.

I don't think it matters but for completeness, I was playing as Firefighter Tristana and I joined the team in teambuilder, wasn't part of the original builders.

That's not where you enable the shared music. Look to the left.

I'm not sure they're looking in the right spot. It's not actually on the scoreboard. You told tab, and the music note icon is on the very left of the screen - right next to where the portraits are for your team; the ones that have the green bubble to show when someone's ult is ready.

I've attached a photo of where it is. :] Note, if there's more than one person on a team, the other portraits would be there - this is a custom game.

It's over there? Uhmmm... I have no idea if it was there or not since I wasn't looking there. If I get a control by bringing up the scoreboard I expect it to be... in the scoreboard. I guess I know now. (Also my team completely failed at explaining this when I asked how to turn the music on.)

Thanks for the clarification, hopefully I'll get a DJ Sona support tomorrow.

For some reason the little "music" icon didn't make it in (as far as I can tell). I've only played AS DJ Sona, not with her, so I can't speak for the visual part of this, but my friends figured out how to listen in. They said you can click her name in the score board (her name or the summoners, not sure - also not sure if right or left click) and there is an option there to listen in.
