Update failed

I haven't been able to play because when I open the LoL Patcher a message pop up saying "Update failed" I've tried turning off firewall and opening it up again- didn't work tried to repair it- didn't work. Any suggestions or help would be appreciated.

Try renaming this file : C:\Riot Games\League of Legends\RADS\RiotRadsIO.dll to RiotRadsIO.dll.backup

Did that work because I'm having the same problem and I struggled with it for an hour and don't want to deal with it till I get some sleep
