5.2 & 5.3 Bug "Logging in to chat" forever

About 90% of the times i startup the client, once I log in it shows that it is attempting to log into chat but never does. As a result I can't open my friends list, see if they are online, or anything. If I queue up for a game while it is doing this I can't chat in the pregame lobby. Sometimes it will fix itself if I log out and close the client, but not usually.

I don't want to go into a match and not be able to talk with my teammates beforehand (can't call roles, suggest bans, see their input, anything) at the very least i would likely be assumed to be a troll. And I would really like to be able to play with my friends when they are online.

Please find a solution promptly....I'm getting tired of beating up on bots during this.item 3070

Okay, so I found something that works for me (although I have no idea why this works).

What I do is I change the date on my computer. If you have a PC, click on the little time/date button on the bottom right of the screen and follow it from there. Just change the date to 1 day ahead of what it actually is. Then open up league and log-in, and usually the 'connecting to chat' thing is fixed. After league is opened, you can change the date back to the correct day.

Again, I have no idea why this works, but it does.

I generally just begin spamming logging in the launcher until its stupid face decides to work properly.
