LP Bug on a promo loss?

Just lost a promotion series, and found myself down at 37 LP? Normally after a loss I am finding myself around 75... I do believe I encountered a bug here, 63 LP gone seems obscene from a series. Was gaining and losing around 14-17 LP a match.

Yea, a fluctuation of 15-22 points isn't that unheard of.

Most likely what happened, is that you won a few games in a streak which raised your MMR relative to the people you were facing. Due to that the system bumped up your LP gains/losses, as it was more unsure if your ranking was correct. Then you lost 3 in a row at a higher LP loss than you saw before your series. That sucks but not unfair or a bug.

Ah... so the LP gains and losses being locked into for a series... and that increase just happened to occur at the start of the series.

Thank you, that is a good explanation... and also really shitty timing for me.

You lose LP for every match you lost in promos, and you gain LP for the wins too. If you were in a Tier promo (you were) and lost 3 games (you did) you will lose 3 regular matches worth of LP. You did not win any back, or it would have been less.

How do Diamond players not know this?

Hmmm... well, your attitude aside, you failed to answer the question.

Losing an average of 14 LP a match, would net roughly 42 on a series loss.

Thanks, don't troll responses to act high and mighty sport.

Ah, no, I answered your question perfectly and you failed to understand.

You did not lose an average of 14 LP. You lost an average of 21. Claiming otherwise is just denial and poor math.

Actually you didn't, and now you are being obnoxious.

I know what my LP gains and losses were going into that series, not you. An increase of 7 is a big MMR jump, which looking at the rankings of both teams, did not occur.

Now, please stay out, you are anything but helpful, just obnoxious.

Dude...LP gains/losses fluctuate greatly sometimes. I have gone so far as to gain 27 in one match and 19 in the next.
