In-game Freezing (Cannot Tab out + must restart PC) [HOW TO FIX]
Ok, so this has been an issue for me in the past two weeks or so. I would load into a game and every so often in the first few minutes I would hear a windows alert noise and my game would freeze. I could not tab out and would have to restart my pc. This was incredibly frustrating and I worked tirelessly with riot support to figure out a working solution.
This is what worked for me. I am not saying it will work for everyone. But I couldn't stand dealing with this issue for another day and I know I was willing to pretty much try anything to get it figured out. So give this a try, please. It raised my fps and I no longer have any issues with freezing.
Ok, so I was instructed to go to C:\Riot Games\League of Legends\RADS\solutions\lol_game_client_sln\releases\0.0.1.245\deploy ----> then right click on leagueoflegends.exe.
- From there- click on the compatibility tab and uncheck everything on that page- including "Run this program in compatibility mode for."
- Then go to your league client shortcut (most likely on your desktop) and go to the same compatibility tab in preferences.
- On that set of preferences, "run this program in compatibility mode for" needs to be unchecked, along with all other boxes.
MAKE SURE TO CLICK APPLY, then OK.
If you come to either of those sets of preferences and the boxes are already unchecked, the other set of preferences will more than likely have boxes that need to be unchecked. Don't panic.
