Unable to cast

So me and my friends have run into this problem and it actually just cost us a ranked game, sometimes when we load into the game we are unable to use any abilities unless we actually click the ability and then click it like it was a a normal ability, and this is really annoying its happened to me from time to time but it just happened to a friend while we were in ranked he backed out and came back in 3 times and still no hot key abilities. Even after reseting his abilities. Fix this Riot, or at least make that a loss prevented because we were gonna win.
