Bard Ulti Bug

I play Bard support often and lately I have been noticing something wrong with his ulti. This would be it simply not working. We would get in a massive teamfight ok, the outcome wasn't looking good for us so they would ping for a disengage. I'm pretty Kobe with Bards ulti. I aim it perfectly so that my friends can run away while the enemies will get hit. I press R, the ulti makes its way to its destination. It's looking like another lovely ulti, no friends caught in it. It pops but, no one seems to be affected by it, nothing happens to them even though they were in its circle hitbox. At first I thought I just maybe severely missed or something along those lines but, it happens every once in a blue moon. I have four people who are willing to vouch for this report.
