I can't play league since patch 5.12

Ever since the update 5.12 i haven't been able to play league. So when i open up league and click the "launch" button, it loads for a bit, but never comes up with the username/password page... It just goes black. Please help Riot, and if anyone else is having the same problem please comment to gain awareness
