Azir Ultimate Doesn't Work Sometimes

I was laning against a darius(as Azir), and he was coming up on me, so I ulted to stop him from getting at me and he literally walked directly through it. The wall hit him upon leaving my character, and did not knock him back, and I watched as he stepped right through it.
