Flash and escape skills dont work?

So recently I've been noticing that Basic attacks and turret hits will follow you, even after a flash and couple escape skills. For example I was play Azir and engaged an enemy, I won the fight, barely and was suffering some damage from some very angry winions so I combo'd my W-E to get away, even threw up the flash incase enemy jungle was trying to get me. Thought I was clear when I see the squigly line doom. The minions auto attack literally followed me from my first turret all the way to tge second turret, killing my and awarding the enemy champ the kill.
