I've logged many times, repaired numerous times as well as reinstalled. It is still saying "Logging onto chat service...". I have no communication in champ select, leading to an unknown team composition in ranked. So much for placements. Please help Riot!

Try syncing your clock. Double check the time, date, and year.
Make sure your Windows Updates are installed and up to date.
Make sure you have forwarded your required network ports.
Make sure you've updated your firewall including this .exe: ...\Riot Games\League of Legends\RADS\projects\lol_air_client\releases\0.0. 0.68\deploy\LolClient.exe and this website: beta.lol.riotgames.com

I have the same issue, happened in the past week or so. I changed the computer date one day ahead prior to loading client, and it works. Other things I've read said to change the date back once the client loads, but my client will freeze and I have to shut it down after doing so. I'll do this for a few more days before I stop playing LOL. I shouldn't have to switch my computer date to play the social game that is no longer social when the chat doesn't work.
