[Gameplay] Ward bug in botlane brush

[slayer-jinx-unamused] I know you guys added in a thing that, in a way, pushes 'close enough' wards into brush. This specific spot, for whatever reason, doesn't do that. Maybe it's just outside the limit? I don't know, but it happens often enough to me that it gets on my nerves a little bit. A ward wasted (I have to wait 120 seconds for another early game) that is utterly useless, perhaps even detrimental. Your Honor I present to you, Article 1: https://i.gyazo.com/64a0f40444730c4a3d67788ec11380f5.gif <--- basically what I am talking about.

"Why not just watch the color indicator? It tells you when it's in a valid brush spot..."

  • -- Because when you're in the moment, a light blue to a light green color change is extremely difficult to watch for, especially if I don't have time to watch for it (IE I know someone is in the bush, and I try to set it down not to get (s)kill-shotted (Yes, that's happened to me before when the ward doesn't place correctly. Not often but it does happen). Barely noticeable when there's a bunch of crap going off on your screen ( as it tends to bottom lane ). Your Honor I present to you, Article 2: https://i.gyazo.com/5ce43da99ef28e125241ed959a621712.gif <-- visual cue is hard to see, as well as I have to move my cursor much further into the bush than most other brush spots.

"Well just make sure it's in the bush, don't put it on the edge of one!"

  • -- The devs literally put in a mechanic to allow for discrepancies of 'barely not in the bush' to equate to 'in the bush'. Why do you think they did that?? (Because a LOT of people put them at the brush's edge, as to not step out as far and possibly get caught when ward-checking them). Not only that but the quarter second extra time to take setting up the ward means a quarter second extra time the enemy team has to react to me moving forward. Do you know how long it takes for most Brand's and Annie's in bot lane to lay down their spells to stun you? I'll give you a second to think about that. ;D

"Well, it doesn't happen THAT often..."

  • -- Even if it doesn't, when it does, it screws up at least my play (and I am sure many other ADC/Supports have run into it at least once in the last few patches). I don't have vision in the bush, where that Thresh / Blitzcrank is sitting, and therefore can't react as quickly to their windup animations to any of their spells-- IF I even venture far enough for them to try to hook me. (not that blitz HAS much of a windup, unfortunately.) It's almost tilting, and throws me off groove. I'm sure we all have something like it that's a bit of a pet-peeve (IE, for junglers, having the adc/support accidentally take your red/blue buff, for instance, even though they didn't mean to; THAT kind of feeling).

"It's because of the isometric veiw, get gud kid."

  • -- See article 1. That one it's actually in the bush.

I also found a post from TWO YEARS AGO detailing the SAME BUSH and the same issue. Please, for the love of all the ADCs and supports that need to keep vision! FIX THIS! ;~; Please.

Step by step:

  1. Attempt to place a ward at the edge of the bottom-lane blue-side-most bush (towards the bottom left).
  2. Place the bush visually correct, but mechanically not, to the point that no vision is actually given. (see Article 2 for how far the ward actually needs to go)

You can even see the discrepancy of the brush if you hover the ward-place action cursor over that bush along the edge; it goes actually very far into the left side of it (see article 2)

You'll get the hang of it eventually. The general rule is the same as for skillshots, the "hitbox" of the bush is at its base. Once you get used to that bit then you can start trying for the very edge of the brush.

If you watch a support main's stream you'll see that even with a ton of practice they take time when they place each and every ward to make sure the indicator colour switches.
