League freezes on Mac client during chapion selcet and can't select champion

When in champion select my screen begins to load when it is my turn to select a champion. This happens at least two times a day and it forces my to dodge. I was in promos and it happened and it is just beginning to get a little frustrating. This was never a problem when the server was in California but now it seems to be a big problem for me everyday. I like the new ping during game but I still need to be able to get into game in order to enjoy the faster servers. Please help me fix this, Riot.
