Placed in lower division after 60% win rate in placement matches.

Last season I was silver 5 ~14LP (didn't do ranked during offseason). I played my placement matches few days ago and ended up 6-4 and got put in bronze 3. I don't understand how getting a 60% win rate would drop my from Silver 5/Bronze1 MMR to bronze 3?

After placements I mentioned it in team chat and 3 other players who were also silver 5 got bronze 3 after placement with a 50% win rate or better.

Can anyone else confirm they were placed in bronze 3 after being lower silver last season?

That's actually high for silver 5s. Everyone drops during placements. Extremely rare to get placed where you were before even if you win 10/10

I got gold+ on preseason and ended season 5 at silver 5 then placed at silver 4 after winning 7/10 games. It just happens. I remember being placed at bronze 4 then just climbed and skipping bronze 3 & 2 straight to bronze 1 then s5 because of my mmr being too high.

I was Silver 5 with 50 LP hoping to be ranked b2 am 3-2 on placements so far haha

There is a soft reset before the placement matches add their share. So, everyone will be placed in a more "average" league.

I wasn't expecting to be placed near my old elo but dropping to bronze3 seemed a bit low. As a silver5 last season, playing against bronze 3/4/5 players makes it a pretty one sided match most of the time.
