Elise rappel bug?

In this short clip I dive a mid laner with the intention to kill her with red buff and rappel to safety, a minion enters rappel range and then walks along the border of rappel max distance. I press e to jump to minion asap but instead it drops me back on top ashe, when I clearly hover mouse over a minion. It seems like the minion was in range but I'm not sure. the minion is highlighted indicating i can rappel to it. When played frame by frame you can see that I've already started to rappel to ashe and the minion is still marked even after landing. What do you think?

It seems you hit e while your cursor was still toggled on ashe hence you dropped immediately after rappeling. When you rappel with Elise, if your cursor is on top of a target you will instantly descend upon them. I hope this helped

You canceled it you clicked the minion in the middle of going up and clicked again 2 more times after it went out of range

When you cast rappel if you are toggeled onto an enemy, or enemy ward you will rappel, and instantly descend upon them. When you rappel not toggling over any target you will rappel and ascend for 2 seconds etc... Watching this your cursor is over Ashe when you activated e.
