shaco box , the box aggro doesnt switch to enemy when they attack you

so recently i placed a box and the box activated on minions , but then i attacked the enemy and when the enemy attack me back , the box did not aggro him . i ended up dying . enemy was in range of box for sure. can someone riot care to explain thanks.
