Games will not open at all after 5.9 update login screen is on Bard and not Teemo, and when it try to launch a game it crashes saying make sure this Application supports this version of OS X, I'm on the latest OS X. This is a ridiculous bug considering I've found posts mentioning it on PBE before this patch was released!
i can open the laucher, lock in, go in champ selection, but as soon as the game starts, it crashes

Im not getting the bard thing but when i do get in a game the connection sucks and I cant stay connected, Last patch I was getting 15 ping and almost never DCed. Edit: Im getting the bard one now.
With this Patch 5.9 I can't even open the Patcher... It was all working fine last night up until this patch rolled out. Still waiting on Support :(
Bumped. I have this same issue. And It didn't tell me that it couldn't open the application till my game started, then i received the same error and got banned for "leaving". Fix this.
Same problem using the mac fix this please riot. This game is atually un playable now till they fix it.
Downloaded the patch, queued up for a ranked game, made it through champ select, then bug splat. And bug splat every time I tried to reconnect. Made a post on reddit about it, and got a bunch of responses saying that other people's mac clients were working fine. Glad i'm not the only one anymore.
I'm having the same issue. Patch appeared to work fine, the login screen was Bard, but the first time I tried to play a game I got the "League of Legends cannot be opened because of a problem" error when the game tried to launch after champ select. The friend I was queued with got into game just fine on his PC. Rebooting my computer did nothing to help. I'm running OSX 10.10.1 right now and my client worked fine before the patch.
I can't even download the new patch it will get to 76% then close down the screen and when i reopen it, it goes back to 33%. i have tried restarting my computer, restart the patch download and nothing, and my mac is up to date. i really hope they fix this soon :(
Yeah my client busts all of the time as well. I think at this point Mac users can mostly agree that Riot just sucks at maintaining their client. Recurring silly errors that are completely non-existent in most other games occur quasi-frequently because Riot is, all-in-all, just a for-**** company.
I genuinely wish they would sell this game to another company because it has so much more potential than with stupid Riot.
