HELP FIX Shaco !

So here's the deal: many people who play Shaco actively will notice that on occasion Shaco's Q Ability will not function properly. I have [attached] an unlisted video of the bug caught on recording.

Before you read and judge, this argument is not that I should not have been seen and killed.

PROBLEM: Shaco's deceive immediately cancels stealth and does not jump to proper cursor location. **HOW TO RECREATE: Uncertain FREQUENCY: Very uncommon **

I am more than aware that there were two major reasons why I WOULD HAVE BEEN SEEN if the stealth buff had actually been in play. -Zed's Death Mark -Zed's Sweeping Lens Trinket

In the event that Deceive worked properly, I would have been revealed by the Sweeping Lens AND by Zed's Death Mark for the duration of both as such. However, in the [attached] video you can clearly see that Shaco's stealth DOES work, but not even for 0.25 seconds.

In fact, Shaco's stealth goes off BEFORE the jump does, and when he COMPLETES his jump... stealth instantaneously cancels.

WHAT I THINK THE ISSUE IS: I believe the issue could be one of two things without knowing how the code works for the game mechanics.

  1. I noticed in the video that my cursor swept over Gnar before the Deceive went off, and I'm aware that I tend to spam right-click a lot. My first theory is that I may have right-clicked Gnar before Deceiving; Thus causing Shaco to bug out and cancel his own stealth upon jump.

  2. The problem might have been also in the pathing. If you pay very close attention to the video linked, you'll notice that where my cursor was placed is not the same place Shaco jumped to.

*A common bug for Shaco is that when you try to Q over terrain, he will re-path BEFORE jumping (which you need to watch very carefully, for this does not happen when you are stationary) and sometimes he will move away from the terrain he is trying to cross. For instance the dragon pit. To get out of it from the center of the wall (towards Red Buff on Blue Side) you must walk almost directly AWAY from the wall to take the shortest route to the destination on the other side. Shaco's Q sometimes works like a move-on-click command (right-click to move), and re-paths to target location. If the pathing requires you to move away from the wall, Shaco will step back VERY SLIGHTLY, and in some cases that slight movement will be enough for him to fail a cross over terrain.

My second theory is that Shaco's jumping path followed the path of where I last right-click since it happened to fast that something went wrong and canceled the stealth for whatever reason.

All in all I lean towards my first theory as to why the stealth was not active. You can even observe the screen dimming as if I was entering stealth and immediately brightening. It most likely would have happened so fast we wouldn't have seen the screen dim at all, but I am aware that there is an animation time for the screen to dim/brighten when entering and exiting stealth.

-We see the screen dim -We see Shaco jump to the wrong location -We see Shaco ENTER stealth BEFORE jumping -We see Shaco EXIT stealth AFTER jumping -We never see a status indication for Deceive at any time

Thank you for having the patience to read my whole theory. Hope this bug gets fixed, though it's not often to occur. This game is called the "game of inches" for a reason. One play can decide a match, and though it's only one loss, it could mean so much more to someone else for any given reason. Any gameplay related bug, no matter how minuscule, makes a big difference.

If you have auto-attack on, then you probably triggered the auto-attack animation, which no matter when you cancel it, will un-stealth you.

It's dumb, but that's how it works.
