Remake Error?

I was playing a "Ranked Game" and our mid laner didn't load or connect in. Past three minutes we weren't able to remake, and at 12 minutes in he finally Connected. Despite this we still got a loss? Can someone elaborate on what exactly happened?

what elo? if its bronze loss preventions are just a lost cause, im b5 and cant go 3 hours without an afk to ruin my game.
