champion select

i just got into champion select and when it was my turn to pick it showed it was their pick. If that makes sense :/ I heard the sound of that it was turn to pick though, so i tried to pick a champ, which didn't work. Then the time ran out, i got kicked out of champ select coz i didn't pick and lost 3 LP. I don't know what you guys can do about this. But if possible, i would like my LP back.
